Classes and Support Groups

At BSA Harrington Cancer Center, we strive to offer a wide variety of support programs to meet patient and caregiver needs.  All BSA Harrington Cancer Center support groups are presented without charge as a community service.  For more information, contact Natalie Henning at 212-1991.  

Supportive Care Services

Counseling

Individual and family counseling is available for patients coping with issues related to their cancer diagnosis. All counseling is provided by on staff Licensed Professional Counselors and offered without charge. Contact Natalie Henning, LPC-S at 212-1991 for information.

Caregiver Education and Support

An individual setting discussing caregiver stress and self-care. Articles, caregiver resources and support group opportunities are provided. Please contact Natalie Henning, LPC-S for an individual appointment.

Dialogue Support Group

A survivor and caregiver resource for more than 26 years. Join us for a complimentary lunch and discussion to support healthy survivorship. Meets the first Thursday of every month, noon – 1 p.m., BSA Harrington Cancer Center Amphitheater, second floor.

Pampa Support Group

Patients, survivors and caregivers gather for a complimentary lunch and support. Meets the fourth Tuesday of every month, noon – 1 p.m., Central Baptist Church in Pampa. 

Stress Management

Patients, survivors and caregivers develop skills for coping with stress. Meets the third Thursday of every month, noon – 1 p.m., BSA Harrington Cancer Center Quiet Room, second floor. 

Women in it Together

Women gather to support each other through all stages of treatment and survivorship. Meets the second Monday of every month, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., BSA Harrington Cancer Center Amphitheater, second floor.

Patient Education

Chemotherapy Class

This class provides education about what the patient can expect while undergoing chemotherapy treatment. General side effects, when to call your doctor or nurse and basic cancer treatment principles are covered. Each patient receives a personalized treatment book filled with valuable information. Contact your clinical nurse for registration. Meets Wednesdays, 9 – 11 a.m., BSA Harrington Cancer Center Amphitheater, second floor.

Radiation Education

An individual appointment to provide education about what the patient can expect while undergoing radiation treatment. General side effects, when to call your doctor or nurse and basic cancer treatment principles are covered. Contact the clinical scheduler for registration.

Tobacco Cessation Support

Individual support for those who are ready to be rid of nicotine. Contact Sharri Miller, RN at 806-463-QUIT (7848) for more information.
